“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

I’ve been a product designer close to 8 years. Last year on Aug, the Zarget team got acquired by Freshworks, In this medium story, I’m going to retrospect my zarget journey.

I love working for startups because I come from a humble startup background and they fit my lifestyle and personality.

Working in Zarget was significantly different experience than my previous companies. It’s been more eye-opening than I expected and taught me to approach problems and my work from different angles than I’d previously considered.

When startups launch and grow their business, they face an environment of extreme difficulties and change. But with their company culture, they are able to embrace and adapt to market changes. They can turn challenges into opportunity.

Below given 8 points are relatable to any startup founders and employees:

Product-Market Fit

A research to articulate the key assumption that underlies why a customer is likely to use your product. Startups often go through many iterations before they find product-market fit. When a great team meets a great market, something special happens.

Start Small

It’s more important to start than to start right. Remember a nike slogan? It says just do it. If you don’t start your business, nothing will happen. Whatever is stopping you from starting should be ignored and just start.

Take Feedback Seriously

Pleasing the customer should be one of the top priorities in a company. It is fundamental to evaluate customer feedback and to take it seriously, thus allowing customers to participate by integrating their ideas. Social media can be used here very effectively.

Build Engaging Communities

Building a collaborative startup community is not easy; It should build a shared purpose. You can start with analyzing the situation and determining the key issues involved.

Become a Success Story

The hardest challenge for any startup is to build a successful culture and business. We tend to default to money when we’re talking about success, but for some founders the ability to make a difference to truly make a positive impact on the world is the definition of a successful startup.

Be Responsible

Titles are not your job, No matter whats your role in the company, carry the vision forward and push your limits to win as a team.

Celebrate Failure

If you haven’t tasted failure, be ready. It’s after you. You can’t be successful all the time It’s okay fail a little. Grab a beer, dance around, and chill.

Get back to work

You know you need to work, but you really don’t want to. When we are drowned in distractions; calm down a bit and focus. If you focus on everything you have to do, you might start to feel overloaded. Instead, break large projects into tiny modules. You can organize your time effectively.

Let me close with a quote “Great team builds a great product.”

Selfies from last day of Zarget dated Aug 10, 2017.
